2009 Napa Valley Petite Sirah 750 ml

Notes from 2007 Petite Sirah Napa Valley...
The flavors echo the nose and are dominated by rich blueberry and black currant. The entry is full and soft with the tannin building slowly to a full, mouth-coating grip, all-the-while maintaining that fine texture for which Montelena is so famous. A very nice balance and good acid structure complete this powerful wine.

2011 Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc 750 ml

Showing a pale golden color in the glass, this young wine opens with aromas of Charantais melon, good varietal grapefruit notes, brown sugar, honeysuckle, orange blossom, and a tropical hint of papaya. On the palate the firm acid core makes for a very juicy entry and nice persistant finish. It is rich and round, mouthcoating with excellent concentration. The flavors are largely citrus driven, honey tangerine initially moving into sweet grapefruit on the finish, but with lovely layers of tropical fruits as well – mango, guava, and papaya.
